The Saskatchewan Farmland Market is shifting. The SK Farmland market was on a looooong run in appreciation over the past 15 years! No one expected values to rise this fast or for this long. Over the past 15 years it was a Sellers market 95% of the time. It is no surprise to see a shift coming now that profits on grain land are being squeezed.
The market is still quite strong, we sold 14.3M in listings over the past week and two of the three listings sold in 24 hours! However, I do believe that the market will be weaker as we move into fall, and winter. I am not saying “the sky is falling”, I am saying that there is a better opportunity for Sellers today than there will be tomorrow.
