Seeding is nearly done — this week’s crop report
| Seeding hit 93 per cent this week, up from 80 per cent last week, and most of the province is closing in on the finish line. The west-central and southwest regions are essentially done at 97–98 per cent, while east-central is still trailing at 84 per cent but making solid progress.
Moisture is in good shape across the board — 77 per cent of cropland is rated adequate, and some areas in the east received significant rainfall this week, with the Calder area picking up 164 mm.
Crops are emerging and developing well across the province. It is shaping up to be a strong start to the 2026 season. |
