Is Winter a time for Farmers to sit back and relax?

Well, one would hope we all take a bit of time for rest and recuperation during the winter months! That said, most farmers are still hard at work throughout the winter season. Grain producers are busy shipping grain and updating equipment in the frozen months, and the working hours don’t always get shorter! Those with animals have an even bigger job in the winter, caring for and tending animals throughout the cold nights and often stormy days.

This is one of the coldest winters on record in Saskatchewan! There are always great rewards to farming and some ongoing unique challenges.
